Coleman Aerospace, a division of L-3 Communications, is an innovative, responsive supplier of systems engineering, systems integration, and payload launch services.
Coleman Aerospace grew from the Coleman Research Corporation (CRC) established in Orlando, Florida in 1980. The company's initial focus was to provide systems engineering and technical assistance services to government agencies and contractors on a variety of aerospace and defense programs. Coleman won its first major hardware development program in 1992 with the award of the Theater Missile Defense (TMD) Targets program. Under this contract, Coleman provided 25 threat-representative ballistic missiles to be used as targets to support TMD interceptor testing.
Coleman Aerospace was established in 1996 to perform all Coleman hardware and flight vehicle programs.
In addition to performing as the prime contractor for numerous ground and air launched missile programs, Coleman has supported many tactical missile and guided flight vehicle programs, primarily in the areas of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems; aerodynamic analysis and wind tunnel testing; and flight testing and post-test data analysis.
Coleman Aerospace facilities are located in Orlando, FL.
