Advanced Programs

Advanced Container Security Device

Coleman Aerospace designs cargo container security systems for Homeland Security. These systems are engineered to detect stowaways, threat substances, and other contraband in sealed cargo containers.

The ACSD will have sensors that automatically detect live animals and people, as well as minute amounts of threat substances. This device is designed to automatically identify tampering at any point in the container's passage and will detect breaches on the container's sides, roof, or bottom.

Multiple Kill Vehicle (MKV)

L-3 Coleman Aerospace will support the MKV program with a variety of systems engineering services, including requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, trade studies, and system performance assessment. Flight test support services will include development of test scenarios, test planning, and test range interface. Coleman Aerospace leads system performance analysis activities for the MKV Team, providing advanced simulation products which reflect the unique multiple kill vehicle payload functionality and performance. Coleman contributes to the development of MKV payload concepts, on-board battle management algorithms, and MKV Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) within the Ballistic Missile Defense System. In addition, Coleman provides performance assessments supporting integration of the MKV payload with Ground Midcourse Defense, Kinetic Boost Vehicle, and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense interceptors.
